I have been practising yoga for over 20 years and tried many different styles of yoga before training with the International School of Dru Yoga. My qualifications include a B.Ed (Music) and a 200 hour in-depth Dru Yoga Teacher training.Dru Yoga is affiliated to The International Yoga Alliance and the Register of Independent Yoga Teachers.
Since completing my training in December 2010 I have continued my professional development and training with many different teachers of international renown, including workshops led by Liz Lark, David Procyshyn, Daniel Head & Cecily Milne of Yoga Detour.
In May 2015 I completed a 50 hour Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Training with J.Brown at Studio Yin Helsinki.
In January 2016 I completed an online training for Yoga Anatomy Course(202) led by world-renowned physical therapist, Dr Paula Gelbart.
In July 2018 I completed a 35 hour Professional Training with the Yoga in Healthcare Alliance certifying me to run the 10-week Yoga4Health programme.
Before becoming a full time yoga teacher I taught for 28 years in Special Education, introducing yoga to the curriculum in my last job with the Gloucestershire Pupil Referral Service.
Apart from my 5 weekly open classes I teach a weekly corporate yoga session at Marketing Punch, Stonehouse. I teach a weekly class to adults at the Orchard Leigh Camphill Community in Eastington and several private and small group sessions with adults with special needs. I offer therapeutic yoga to adults & children with learning disabilities, stroke victims and acquired brain injuries.I offer both regular weekly classes and one-off workshops to both children and adults with learning disabilities.
