Private Yoga Sessions
I also offer private yoga sessions in the privacy of your own home.
These are usually 1:1 sessions and my charges are £35 for 30 minutes or £60 for 60 minutes.
(I do recommend a full 60 minutes for your first session.)
If you have the space in your home I am happy for you to share these sessions with a partner or friend, charges remain the same.
Private yoga lessons offer students the ability to focus on personal interests, concerns or goals. Instead of following along with the yoga instructor in a class setting, a private lesson allows an individual to set specific goals and plans, such as personal goals for flexibility, strength or meditation.
Many doctors are now recommending yoga as a way to help with persistent back, shoulder & neck problems as the combination of working with the breath, increasing strength in core muscles and improving flexibility can often sort out many of these issues.
In a private yoga session you will be given tools you can always use outside of a class or as we say in the yoga world, “off the mat.” Everyone could use tips on how to stand taller, sit upright, and stretch properly before & after exercise. Moreover, certain breathing techniques will get you through the tough times in life.
Once you feel confident with your own personal practice you can then continue with your own home practice (15 minutes a day would be enough to reap many rewards - little and often is far better than a long practice occasionally)
or you may want to join one of my classes and know that you can take the class at your own level as I will be offering modifications for poses that you feel may be too challenging.
I found Carol via yell.com. I was looking for someone to introduce me to yoga and teach me some exercises to use at home. I had had no experience of yoga at all but had been recommended that it would help with lower back pain. Carol was brilliant – she quickly recognised my needs and my limitations, was very positive and encouraging, explained each exercise clearly and fully. She gave clear feedback and was very approachable. I recommend her unreservedly.
Carol came as requested to my cottage to provide me with a one-to-one refresher yoga session to enable me to improve my daily morning practice. She arrived on time and I explained to her what I did for my normal session. I had, before her arrival, cleared a suitable floor area to enable her to demonstrate and for me to practice any new exercises she proposed. Carol suggested and demonstrated several alternative exercises to incorporate into my practice and reminded me about the breathing techniques which should accompany any yoga session. Her advice was very practical and helpful (as always) and has enabled me to put new life and energy into my daily practice.
I was sure that I was going to find yoga really hard because I have many flexibility issues, but my doctor recommended yoga for my recurring back problems and I'm so glad I was brave enough to try it because I really enjoyed my first 1:1 with Carol and have never looked back! She not only tailored my first ( and following sessions) to target the specific areas which eased my back problems but also, once I knew what I was doing, she encouraged me to attend her local classes. I now have a short home practice specific to my needs but I'm now also a regular attendee at her classes in Eastington. I can honestly say yoga has not only sorted my back problems but I now would not miss my weekly class for the world! Yoga helps me relax, breathe properly, and I have become stronger and more supple.
